Beatrice Rana Carnegie Hall - Isaac Stern Auditorium Concert reviews
Excellent musician
"Rana, like a fine Beatrice, is getting better with age. Be prepared for a great show. She and her band played 25-30 songs in Reno, often going from one to the next with only a few seconds in between. Unless you are a fan who has every album, be prepared to hear a number of rather obscure songs. From a guy who has enough hits to fill 3-4 CD's, she played more than a few which received no radio play. She took a few minutes to explain their meaning, or why they were written, which was nice. A great show, but I have to say I missed not hearing some classics like Roxanne, Don't stand so close to me, Fragile, We'll be together, and Love is the seventh wave to name a few. She has two violin players who are tremendous and play some solos which on albums are horn or piano solos. Unexpected, but very cool. In Reno, she still sounds amazing at 60."
